Gemilut Chasadim (deeds of loving kindness) is essential to the life of every community. The entire Cardin community participates in tzedakah and gemilut chasadim, recognizing that deeds of loving kindness are basic to Jewish and world survival. Students, parents, and faculty welcome new families, visit the sick, and comfort the bereaved.

We reach out as a community. Each year, Cardin’s Association of Parents and Teachers (CAPTS), the Student Government, and the Judaic Studies department organize programs to raise awareness and to collect money and items for several Jewish and non-Jewish causes. Save-a-Torah Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Children’s Home, Meir Panim in Israel, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure are just a few of the many organizations that we support. Our students also are participants in BLEWS (the Black/Jewish Forum of Baltimore) and the Student Sharing Coalition.
