The Arts

Whatever the medium, the arts at Cardin seek to encourage creative expression while exploring connections with other disciplines. While attending Cardin, students are encouraged to participate in a full spectrum of the creative arts, including music, visual arts, and the performing arts.

What’s more, all of the arts are fully integrated into our curricula, with a component present in each academic subject area during the school year. Botanical drawings in biology and the creation of pendulum art in physics allow students to realize these links between art and science. Exploring medieval craft traditions and calligraphic poetry in English and vocal performances during Minyan serve to promote cross-cultural insights.

Through this added artistic dimension, our students are able to gain a deeper understanding of particular academic subjects. By doing so, they discover new relationships among ideas, disciplines, and broader cultural movements.
