Cardin
Students Publish Literary Magazine
The
Cardin School is pleased to announce the publication
of the first addition of its literary magazine, The
Doorway. Completed in June 2007 as part of an elective
course, The Doorway is entirely written and designed
by Cardin students under the direction of English Department
Coordinator, Dr. Norman Prentiss. Click

Cardin Introduces New Courses for the 2007-2008 School Year
As part of our continuing efforts to provide an exciting and individualized
education to all our students, the Cardin School is proud to announce that
we are adding several new courses and electives to the curriculum for the 2007-2008
school year. Some of the courses being introduced include: Vector Calculus
and Linear Algebra, AP Biology, AP Physics, Spanish VI, Java Programming, and
Introduction to Arabic.
Cardin School Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees
At the Cardin School Annual Meeting on May 17, 2007,
Howard A. Janet was newly elected as Chair of the
Board of Trustees. He succeeds Shoshana S. Cardin,
Founding Chair of the Board, who will continue on
the Board as Immediate Past Chair. The Board expressed
special appreciation to Mrs. Cardin for her remarkable
leadership and presented her with a display case
to be used for awards, trophies and memorabilia.
Howard A. Janet is the founding and managing partner
of Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLC, a plaintiff’s
law firm that practices nationwide. Active in the legal
community, he is a past president of the Gary I. Strausberg
Foundation, an organization dedicated to the professional
education of attorneys and education of the public
about the civil justice system and the role of the
jury. Mr. Janet’s service on behalf of the Jewish
community has included a term as Chairman of Israel
Bonds for Maryland and as a member of the Board of
Directors of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation
of Baltimore.
The Cardin School Board Officers elected for the 2007-08
year are: Dr. Ellen L. Taylor, First Vice Chair; Carl
S. Silverman, Vice Chair; David B. Shapiro, Treasurer;
Michael S. Novey, Secretary. We also welcome newly
elected Board Trustees: Sandra Hittman, Stephen Mackler,
Marty Skolnik, Laurie Weitz, Karen Wilner, and Larry
Wolf.
