Music

A variety of music classes and lessons are available to interested students.  These courses provide instruction at all levels.  We strongly encourage students from beginner to seasoned pro to take advantage of these offerings.

Vocal Ensemble
This elective offers students choral experiences for mixed voices.  They develop both musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance.  Course content includes a study of choral literature, vocal techniques, and sight-singing.  As students sing in a broad variety of musical styles, they gain an appreciation for the choral art and the skills to participate effectively in a choral ensemble.  In addition, students develop other important skills including the poise to present oneself before an audience, self-discipline, team work, leadership, and a sense of dedication to one’s art.  Each class session includes instruction in musicianship and music-reading as well as group vocal instruction.  Rehearsals and performances both in and out of school are required.

Music Theory
This course instructs students in basic music theory.  Students develop their understanding of the fundamentals: notes, rhythms, chord structures, and appropriate musical terms.  In addition, this course includes history of classical music.

Piano lessons
Piano lessons are offered during school to students from beginner to advanced.  Students schedule to meet the instructor once a week for half an hour lesson.
