Cardin Admissions Process

Shalom.  Thank you for considering an application to The Shoshana S. Cardin School, Baltimore’s Independent Jewish High School.  I invite you to get to know our wonderful community- our incredible faculty, our diverse student body – and see for yourself how this young, pluralistic Jewish high school is preparing our students to be educated Jewish adults.  The Shoshana S. Cardin School is committed to providing a first-rate secular and Jewish education to those who have attended day schools, and also to those from public or secular independent schools who may or may not know Hebrew.

As Director of Admissions, I am available to introduce you to our community, answer your questions, and guide you through the admissions cycle. I encourage you and your family to visit Cardin to see our classes in action, meet our students, discover our first-class faculty, and learn all the benefits of a Cardin education.  I am available by phone at 410-585-1400, ext. 207, or via email at agreenspoon@shoshanascardin.org, and my door is always open.

To get started, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact me to request an admissions package and to arrange for your personal information session and tour of our school.
  2. Schedule a day-long visit for your child where he/she can attend classes, meet current students, and have an Admissions interview.
  3. Register for the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE).  This test will be given at The Shoshana S. Cardin School on Sunday, December 6, 2009, or may be taken at many other AIMS (Association of Independent Maryland Schools) schools in the Baltimore area.  It is easy to register on-line by visiting the ISEE website.
  4. Complete our application and return it to The Shoshana S. Cardin School by January 29, 2010. We will accept applications after this point on a space-available basis.  The completed application should include:

I look forward to meeting you and working with you over this year.
